Seoyoon is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. He received his BS in Biological Engineering and MS in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering from Inha University, Korea. During his undergraduate and master’s period, he worked on hydrogel-based biosensors, lipid-based drug delivery, and cancer immunotherapy.
His research focuses on the development of functional nanoparticles for therapeutic applications, immunomodulation, and image-guided therapies. The current research projects include image-guided cancer immunotherapy using immunomodulatory gold nanoparticle-labeled macrophages and perfluorocarbon nanodroplets as a widely applicable therapeutic cell labeling tags.
