I am a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory. I am interested in the use of ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging for cancer diagnosis and therapy monitoring. My focus is to combine these modalities, in conjuction with contrast agents, to diagnose lymph node metastasis in oral and breast cancer, and mediate photothermal therapy.
I got my B.S. and Lic. degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Costa Rica, and my M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
Aside from lab work I enjoy sports and music, mostly soccer, cycling and piano. My favorite place at Tech is Under the Couch in the Student Center.
My office is MoSE 4163 and I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
